DR. BUSHRA RAJ
Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Bushra Raj moved from UAE to Canada on her own in order to complete her undergraduate degree. She then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the Schier Lab.
She has since continued her research in cell and developmental biology in her own Raj Lab, UPenn. Her lab focuses on mapping brain development using zebrafish as models, the lab's aim is to build 'molecular roadmaps of cellular diversification during brain development and regeneration', stressing the importance of research in understanding neurodevelopmental disorders and birth defects.
She graduated from the University of Toronto in 2015 with a PhD in Molecular Genetics.
